Ella has always been interested in health and fitness and trained as a dancer for many years, obtaining a degree in dance and Performing Arts from Middlesex University. When living in London, she began to practice Bikram yoga and found that it encompassed every element of fitness, stamina, strength and flexibility she required to maintain the benefits that dancing gave her but without the stress and strain on her muscles.
Moving to Brighton, she then began to study and explore other styles such as Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha and Iyenga. Ella also studied the art of Meditation to go deeper in her practice. After exploring these different styles Ella decided to travel to India to experience the root of the source of yoga. She completed the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training in Kerala and then travelled and practiced across South and mid India. On her return she became one of the first teachers at the well renowned Feelhotyoga Studio in St Albans, teaching hot Hatha and hot flow yoga.
Ella was then offered a job in Morocco managing the yoga department at the Surf Berbere Surf and Yoga retreat camp in Taghazout where she worked for a season teaching surf specific yoga and managing weekly yoga retreats. Ella’s approach to teaching is that yoga should be fun, challenging and relaxing all at the same time and accessible to all. Ella likes to emphasize to her students that it is the journey not the ending that we should focus on.
Throughout her class Ella encourages a strong connection between body, mind and spirit. She delivers a physically demanding practice, whilst at the same time encouraging her participants to practice without pain and to accept each moment as their bodies being exactly where they should be. Ella also believes yoga should be for everyone, regardless of age, ability and level of fitness and states.
