Chakra Balance

Chakra Balance is a unique practice that combines five yogic methods to create a powerful experience of relaxation, inner awareness, and energetic balance.

The class is suitable for all levels of experience. The poses are gentle, supported versions of classical yoga postures using bolsters, blocks, and straps to help the body soften with minimal effort. In this sense it’s similar to yin or restorative yoga, but the overall experience is much deeper. Time seems to fly by and it’s common to leave feeling lighter, clearer, and deeply restored, with the effects continuing long afterwards.

The depth of the practice comes from the careful layering of the five methods. Each posture (Asana) is connected to a specific chakra, areas of the body linked to different physical sensations, emotional states, and qualities of awareness. Chakras are often thought of as abstract or mystical, but this practice is designed to bring them to life, helping you directly experience the effects of a chakra focused practice.

During each pose, the class is supported by immersive sound (Nada) through ambient music containing chakra-specific frequencies and crystal singing bowls played live in the room. You will also be guided to apply three optional yogic techniques in their traditional chakra focused approach:

  • Mudra - hand gestures used to support energetic and attentional focus
  • Mantra - silent mental repetition to help quiet and direct the mind
  • Dhyana - guided awareness and visualisation to deepen inner experience

Each method is effective on its own, but together they create a potent synergy. Many people notice a deep release of mental stress and physical tension, along with a strong sense of calm, clarity, and reconnection with themselves.

Important Details

Because the class can create such a noticeable shift in state, it’s recommended to give yourself a little space afterwards if possible, perhaps enjoying a free tea at the studio, taking a gentle walk, or simply allowing yourself time to absorb the experience before returning to a busy environment.

The room will be pleasantly warm but not heated, so it’s a good idea to bring an extra layer if you think you may need it.
